Where I never ever thought I would be
I wasn’t sure when the inspiration for this blog would hit. But now seems like a time.
When I was nearing the end of my treatment Gary had a fight or flight moment. Gary’s love language has always been gifts. I’m not sure he knows this about himself but his idea of love is buying the big things to show his love. I know what you’re thinking. What a total b word having a moana about that. I’m not. I just would love a coffee made for me in the morning (insert acts of service here) anywho. Good thing I have that covered.
His remedy. His solution. Was take me all the places I’ve never been. All the places I could’ve loved. All the places I should’ve lived.
So the flight moment has finally happened. And we are currently on the other side of the world.
We’re here.
I know. Romantic.
So it was serendipitous. That she was sat here looking out of a San Francisco window trying her best to ignore her children. Writing this blog 48 hours in San Francisco.
We’re staying at the Rui, a stones throw from the wharf area, the fish smell honestly isn’t so bad, according to my 8 year old.
This city is vibrant af with a side of dodgy. I feel safe, although wits are turned on.
My day started with a romanticise your life moment.
Never. Ever. Underestimate how good a hotel bathroom moment can be.
We were keeping the fashion Australian…until we weren’t. Homegrown brands such as soft liveable denims from Witchery paired with a standout Sportsgirl shirt and the cutest oversized beach bag a la Californian brand Nevula (courtesy of Roselle, Brisbane). Well let’s just say, this combo really caught that San Fransico sun.
Next stop. We hopped on the San Fran open air bus tour and honestly never looked back. We thought we were going to get our heads chopped off more than once on over hanging branches and electric charged tram lines hanging over head.
But we got some great shots. Highly recommend.
Keep scrolling for a long-life-living-omg-i-can’t-believe it moment.
And I couldn’t think of a better way to do it. Top deck rollercoaster simulation.
Driving over the top of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Excuse me while I head home to paint all of the doorframes international orange.
Geeking out over here in my San Fran Merch 🤣
