Movies I love.

These movies got me through the darkest of times let’s talk escapism, New York life, espressos for breakfast and cosmos for dinner.

Whether I saw them on the big screen or rewatched them on repeat when I couldn’t make it off the couch these are the stories that made me!

I cant help myself.

Ok it’s got a few outdated lines in it, but to be fair we were still recovering from 90s diet culture, we can let them slide. This movie was a post 9/11 masterpiece, filmed in New York it brought life back to the city after tragedy. I love the fact that as the viewer we are in on the story and the two main characters have no idea. Genius.

I’m in love this Kate Hudson. I’m sure this is how she actually is in real life and 100% positive she would love a night at one of our dinner parties. Fact.

Favourite scenes: when Andie crashes the boys night, the bridge scene (obvs)

Fashion.

The iconic yellow dress was to die for.

The details: it was by Carolina Herrera and is likely archived now, she’s over 20 years old. Is so hopefully somewhere safe. Plus the transition of a polished Andie-resident-how-to-girl into the carefree naturally curly glowing gal in jeans and a white tee was wardrobe genius!

We’ll have this look on repeat please.

Did you know the all the diamonds in the movie were real with the yellow statement piece ‘Isadora’ being the star of the show, they even had to make a stunt double piece (costing over $10k) that had to be dismantled post production.

New York locations:

  • Staten Island ferry- Statue of Liberty scene

  • US Customs house- the party/big reveal

  • Manhattan bridge closing scenes featuring love the fern

2003.
