A Dinner party that hits different.

Recently I was invited to the tasting for a new and extremely delicious dinner party done differently. The difference? You don’t have to decide on the menu, you don’t have to cook, and you don’t have to clean up. Bonus. You still get to enjoy the deliciousness that is cooked up by dinner party aficionado, Jarrod Applebee, and his new-to-the-Brisbane-food-scene, Bistro Boy Supper Club.

Housed behind this cute little butter yellow cafe curtain is a welcoming and intimate private dining experience. Bring yourself and a partner for a dinner tasting experience not many others may have experienced. Welcoming and warm, the venue might surprise you, and quite simply put, where the food is something special.

I was lucky enough to be invited to this behind-the-scenes menu tasting as Jarrod talked me through (and photographed) his dishes that make up his modestly named, supper club.

If you haven’t experienced a supper club before you likely haven’t had the opportunity to chat and mingle with likeminded foodies while digging in to some seriously good food.

The vibe reminds me of a New York bistro, good well thought out courses in a chilled laid back setting that’s not trying too hard.

Food that’s not just a treat for the senses but an atmosphere thats fulfils our need to just be.

As not-really-a-sweet-gal, I sent in the expert to do the final tasting on dessert. Poppy’s favourite, Tiramisu. Let’s just say I had a few bites and in the end I nearly fought her for it.
